“For unto us a Child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end,

Another year has flown by and we are grateful to have been able to share it with you.

Denise and I along with the girls would like to take this time to wish each and every one of you a blessed and Merry Christmas. We find our time with each of you is a precious gift and we are thankful that God allows us the privilege to minister to you.

What are some of the great gifts you have received over the Christmases of your lifetime? If your like most people you probably can not remember what you had for supper last Tuesday let alone what you got for Christmas last year. Material gifts are generally that way, that have a short-lived life span, and they generally do not satisfy long. But there is one gift we have all received one very special Christmas some 2000 years ago that is everlasting, and has stood the test of time, it is Jesus Christ our Lord.

Now you may not think of Jesus as a gift but he truly is. In the Genesis account of creation God created the heavens and the earth, mankind and the animals, the water and the dry ground, and the scripture says it was good. As a matter of fact it was perfect. But some how we humans can mess up a sure thing and by the 6th Chapter of Genesis God was uttering those same words that my father used to say to me, “I brought you into this world, I can take you out.” Our wickedness was out of control and God dealt with it by sending pounding rain for 40 days and everything on earth was destroyed. The punishment for their sin was death.

God made a promise after those days to never again destroy the earth with water. He sent his Son Jesus to be the “once and for all sacrifice” for our sin (Hebrews 10.) Christ’s shed blood is payment for our sins and turns away the wrath of God for all who believe and repent. What a precious gift we have in the Baby Jesus. Have a Merry Christmas…..   Pastor Rob
