God Takes Pleasure in You!!!

By Pastor Rob |  July 13, 2005

Spring is upon us, the time has changed and the days again are longer. The last grip of winter is starting to lose it’s hold as the sun becomes stronger and higher in the sky. The robins have returned and I am now hearing the Cardinal sing his sweet song in the mornings as I leave to come to the office.
The flowers are already starting to peek out of their winter slumber and soon the farmers and gardeners will be planting their seeds and watching their crops grow. Isn’t it amazing when we start to think about it, the awe and wonder of spring? The winter’s rest is over and nature is starting to come alive again. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do because it has been given to you for your pleasure and enjoyment by God. He has wired you with the sense of smell, hearing, tasting, seeing, and touching so that you can take pleasure in his creation.
Did you know that you were planned for God’s pleasure? I’m reading a great book titled “The Purpose Driven Life” by Rick Warren I encourage everyone to pick up a copy and read it. In chapter 8 of Ricks book he writes these words:
“The moment you were born into the world, God was there as an unseen witness, smiling at your birth. He wanted you alive, and your arrival gave him great pleasure. God did not need to create you, but He chose to create you for his own enjoyment. You exist for His benefit, his glory, his purpose, and his delight. Bringing enjoyment to God, living for his pleasure, is the first purpose of your life. When you fully understand this truth, you will never again have a problem with feeling insignificant. It proves your worth.”
Rick goes on to write that God thinks you are so important and so valuable that he wants to keep you with him for an eternity. As the spring continues to blossom and you watch it’s reawakening, enjoy every moment and take pleasure in God’s creation, and know that God is watching you blossom. He is watching you grow and awaken to his awesomeness.
Remember, you are a child of God, and you bring pleasure
to God like nothing else he has ever created. Enjoy the Spring!

For the LORD takes pleasure in his people.
Psalm 149:4 (NRSV)
You created everything, and it is for your
pleasure that they exist and were created.
Revelation 4:11 (NLT)
